Sutton Speedway Track Facts

Sutton Speedway was originally built by Earl Herdman as a 1/4 mile dirt oval for the 1958 racing season. This stock car rracing facility ran Jalopies on the dirt for the 1st three years. Hazen McIntosh won the 1959 Championship at Sutton.

Sutton Speedway was paved for the 1961 racing season in an effort to bring better racing to the 1/4 mile paved oval. This in turn brought the Late Models, B Modifieds, Hobbies and 6 cylinder divisions over the next several years until Sutton Speedway closed at the end of the 1971 season.
