Nilestown Speedway Track Facts

Nilestown Speedway opened August 22nd, 1952 as a 1/4 mile dirt oval under the management of Smokey Meko. This dirt track was the home track to the London cars. In 1953 Chappy Chaplin was promoting Nilestown and held racing events on Friday nights.

Like many racing facilities, Nilestown Speedway started out as a dirt oval but it was paved for the 1955 racing season and stayed an active Speedway until 1974.
