Cayuga About 1969

I never really liked to spin people out, but I did it once to a great guy, and we are still friends. After the race, I went to Butch Ball, the race director, to explain why I did it. He said that what I did was OK as the rollee was chopping me off at every turn, and I had to brake really hard to avoid him. After 4 to 5 laps of this, I just let my car get into him to let him know I was there. It was just enough to put him off the end of the track and his VW just flipped over a couple of times.

When he got out of the car the crowd gave him a big cheer which seemed to take away any anger. I think he liked it, but it never happened (with me) again. I had a lot of fun running that little track at Cayuga. It was a great training ground, nobody ever fell asleep running there, and again I met a lot of good people, and made some good friends.
