Brian MacDonald’s Modified

Brian first started racing a 1961 Chev at a dirt track called Model T in 1970. I was a Crew Chief for a friend until 1979.
That is when Brian started racing his own cars. Brian raced weekends at Sunset Speedway for 5 years then went racing at Flamboro Speedway. There were many “Special Races” at Sauble Beach, Cayuga, Barrie and Delaware.

Brian started building cars in 1987. Many raced at Sauble Beach Speedway – Andy Schmidt, Ron Lipski, Stu Robinson, Robbie Thompson, Tim Ellis, Scott Steckly, Duane Stade and Jon Wolfe. Brian also built a modified for Rick Woolner.

Brian built his own Super Late Model to race at Mosport, Peterboro and specials through out Ontario. Won numerous features at all tracks. In 1989 he bought a Modified car from Doug Heveron and raced at Lancaster Speedway in New York for 2 years.

It was 1995 that Brian started going to North Carolina with my his good friend John McQueen. Worked with him on Joe Bessey’s NASCAR Busch car.

Brian was the Crew Chief for Kelly Williams and Pete Gibbons in
the CASCAR series. Brian went the Nascar Series full time in 1999. Moved to Mooresville North Carolina.

He worked for Joe Bessey’s NASCAR Cup Power Team # 60 with Geoff Bodine in 2000. When Joe Bessey bought Andy Santerre’s Busch North team I was the Crew Chief that lead Andy and the team to the championship in 2003.

Brian also worked for various NASCAR truck teams including Brandon Whitt and David Starr. In 2006 Brian worked for Germain Racing when Todd Bodine won 2 championships. He finished up working for Germain Racing and
moved back home to Ontario in 2012.

On arriving back in Ontario, Brian started working again on race cars.
He built an Outlaw car for Andrew Gresel, a Limited Late Model for Tim Ellis and a Pro Late for Josh Stade.

Currently Brian does shock service and repair on various race cars.

Racing will always be a passion for me.
